FAQs
What is the Event Time Limit?
The half marathon course will remain secured until the 15 minute/mile pace. The Sweep Vehicle will operate at 15 minute/mile pace. (3hr 16min) If you are passed by the sweep vehicle your status reverts back to that of a pedestrian and you are expected to use the pavement if you decide to continue. We strongly advise you against continuing and we will ask you to join the sweep vehicle. If you do continue, we will be unable to guarantee that road closures, marshals and drinks stations will be in place. Before starting the race, please give careful consideration to your ability to complete the course in the allotted time.
When is the last day I can register?
The last date for on-line registration is Monday 16th March 2026 unless we sell-out before this date. This is to ensure your race pack can be posted to you in time for the event. Transfers can be made up to Thursday 18th March 2026 and you will need to collect your race number from the original entrant. Please note it is not possible to enter on Race Day. All entries must be made through our on-line facility.

If you cancel within 7 days of making your entry , we are legally obliged to provide a full refund. After 7 days we have a strict no-refund policy for entry fees for any reason. For any merchandise purchased (i.e T-Shirt) we will make a full refund, less postage providing the item is returned, unused within 14 days of delivery.
Is your event suitable for all ages?
You will need to be 17 years or over on Race Day to be able to enter the Half Marathon..
Can I wear headphones?
Under England Athletics rules, headphone, earphones and any other device that covers or are in the ears are not permitted unless needed for medical reasons. Runners ignoring this instruction will be disqualified. It is essential for safety reasons that runners can hear instructions from marshals, particularly on the parts of the route still open to traffic.
Bone conducting and other transmission devices that do not cover the ears, are allowed.
Can I enter on Race Day?
We ceased Race Day entry in 2009 to improve the smooth running of the event and speed up the results process. It will not be possible (for any reason) to enter the race on race day in 2026. No race packs will be available. So please ensure you enter early. Entries open on 1st June 2025.

If we have received your entry, we will ensure a replacement pack can be collected at the information desk on race day.
It is important that you check that we have received your entry via the 'Check your Entry' facility on the FR Systems entry page.
If you have received your race pack and have lost the BIB/CHIP, please come to the information desk in the sports hall, and we will issue you with a replacement .

Can I Transfer my entry to another runner?
-
For 2026, our providers, FR Systems have an on-line facility to allow transfer of an entry in the Half Marathon to another runner up to the entry closure date of 16th March 2026.
-
The runner changes must be made on-line via the FR Systems portal. Details for access are provided on the confirmation e-mail at the time of entry.
-
The integral chip and number must be handed by the original entrant to the new runner. You cannot transfer an entry if you have not received the race number/chip and no replacements will be issued.
-
Runners who take part with a race number that has not been officially transferred will be disqualified.
Do you have a baggage facility?
We provide under cover baggage racks in the sports hall where runners can leave their bags. We have found this has worked well and avoids the need for an army of volunteers to man the desks. Whilst this is not totally secure, no bags have been lost in the two years of operation. All bags are left at the owners risk.
When and where does the event start?
The Half Marathon starts at 10.00am . Runners should listen out for instructions from the announcer.
Runners should gather outside Becket Keys School, Sawyers Hall Lane. CM15 9DA
How do I make a team entry?
Each team should consist of a minimum of five entrants running in the same race. Each team member MUST individually fill out and sign an entry form.
Teams can be entered prior to the event by noting the team name on the entry form or updating their entry via the FR Systems entry portal. The latest date is 16th March 2026
There is no limit to the number of members in a team, however only the first four will count towards the team trophy.
The winners will be the team with the lowest total of the positions of the first four members crossing the finishing line. If you are considering entering a very large team, it may be more fun to divide into smaller teams and have an internal competition.
Can I check my entry has been received?
You can check if we have received your entry on the FR Systems entry portal via this web site.
If your entry is not shown within two weeks of submission, please let FR Systems know by e-mail (contact page) and they will investigate further. For on-line entries we will need the FR Systems confirmation reference number provided to you by e-mail immediately you have successfully completed the entry.
If you have not received this confirmation it is most likely your entry has failed and you will need to re-apply.
Can I defer my entry to next year?
Sorry, it is not possible to defer your entry to the following year if you cannot take part.
Will any roads be closed?
Yes. Roads will be closed to traffic for a major part of the Half Marathon route. Unfortunately it is not possible to close all roads so runners should take care on non-closed roads and listen for instruction from the marshals. Click here for full details of road closures.
