If you cancel you entry within 7 days we will provide a full refund. After 7 days we have a strict no-refund policy for entry fees for any reason. For any merchandise purchased (i.e T-Shirt) we will make a full refund, less postage providing the item is returned within 14 days.

You will need to be 17 years or over on Race Day to be able to enter the Half Marathon. For the Fun Run you must be 8 years or over on Race Day and all runners under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the full distance of the route.
Can I wear headphones?
Headphone, earphones and any other device that covers the ears are not permitted. Runners ignoring this instruction will be disqualified. It is essential for safety reasons that runners can hear instructions from marshals, particularly on the parts of the route still open to traffic.
Bone conducting and other transmission devices that do not cover the ears, are allowed.
Can I enter on Race Day
We ceased Race Day entry in 2009 to improve the smooth running of the event and speed up the results process. In fact we 'sold out' well before race day. It will not be possible (for any reason) to enter the race on race day in 2022. No race packs will be available. So please ensure you enter early. Entries open on 1st June 2021.
My race pack has not arrived!
In the unlikely event that your race pack does not arrive by Wednesday 11th March 2020 please let us know by e-mail through our contact page.
If we have received your entry, we will ensure a replacement pack is available at the information desk.
It is important that you check that we have received your entry via our 'Check your Entry' facility on the Home page.
If you have received your race pack and have lost the BIB/CHIP, please come to the information desk in the sports hall, and we will issue you with a replacement .
Medals and Awards?
All runners who complete the event will receive a quality commemorative medal. In addition, in the Half Marathon, there will be cash prizes for the 1st/2nd/3rd overall, Male and Female. 1st Prize is £300, 2nd Prize is £200 and 3rd Prize is £100.
There are also awards for overall and category winners in both events. Click here for full details.
Can I Transfer my entry to another runner?
For 2022, our providers, FR Systems have an on-line facility to allow transfer of an entry in the Half Marathon to another runner up to the entry closure date of 18th March 2022.
The runner changes must be made on-line via the FR Systems portal. Details for access are provided at the time of entry.
The integral chip and number must be handed by the original entrant to the new runner. You cannot transfer an entry if you have not received the race number/chip and no replacements will be issued.
The transfer must be within the Half Marathon only. If you wish to change race you will need to complete a new entry if the limit has not been reached.
Runners who take part with a race number that has not been officially transferred will be disqualified.
Do you have a secure baggage facility?
There will be a fully manned secure baggage facility located in the main school sports hall. Ensure the tear-off tag on your race number is secured to your bag before drop-off. Please note that if Covid 19 social distancing restrictions are still in-place we will not have the manned facility but you will we able to leave your bag on the shelves provided. This is not fully secure and we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to property.
When does the event start?
The Half Marathon starts at 10.00am and the Fun run starts at approximately 10:20am. Runners should listen out fro instructions from the announcer.
How do I make a team entry?
Each team MUST consist of a minimum of five entrants running in the same race. Each team member MUST individually fill out and sign an entry form.
Teams can be entered prior to the event by noting the team name on the entry form or updating their entry via the FR Systems entry portal. The latest date is Saturday 12th March 2022.
There is no limit to the number of members in a team, however only the first four will count towards the team trophy.
The winners will be the team with the lowest total of the positions of the first four members crossing the finishing line. If you are considering entering a very large team, it may be more fun to divide into smaller teams and have an internal competition.
Can I check my entry has been received?
You can check if we have received your entry on the FR Systems entry portal via this web site.
If your entry is not shown within two weeks of submission, please let us know by e-mail (contact page) and we will investigate further. For on-line entries we will need the Stripe confirmation reference number provided to you by e-mail immediately you have successfully completed the entry.
If you have not received this confirmation it is most likely your entry has failed at the payment stage and you will need to re-apply.
Can I defer my entry to next year?
Sorry, it is not possible to defer your entry to the following year if you cannot take part.
Will any roads be closed?
Yes. Roads will be closed to traffic for a major part of the Half Marathon route. Unfortunately it is not possible to close all roads so runners should take care on non-closed roads and listen for instruction from the marshals. Click here for full details of road closures.
Can I purchase a t-shirt?
You can order a t-shirt at the same time as making your entry. T-Shirts are priced at £12 plus p&p and all proceeds go to charity.
Will there be Pacemakers?
We expect to have pacemakers for 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10 and 2:20 finishing times. Just look for the runners with the backpack sails.
Will there be medical support?
For several years now we have used the services of Emergency Doctors Medical Service. They provide very comprehensive, professional support for the event throughout the route. Please note you should enter any relevant medical conditions on your entry form and also write this down on the back of your number. This will greatly assist the medical team.
Will the event be photographed?
For many years the event has been covered by professional photographers and runners could purchase chosen photographs after the event. Unfortunately our long term partner (like many other similar companies) has decided that they cannot make this business model work. They offer a 'Pic2Go' package for the event but this is prohibitively expensive for this charity event.
Travel Information to the Event
The event starts and finishes in Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood, Essex CM15 9DA.
If you are travelling by car, please allow extra time to find a parking space. Details of Brentwood car parks are here. The nearest railway station is Brentwood, on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield line. It will take 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the station. We will let you know near Race Day if there will be any disruptions due to planned maintenance.
How will I get my results?
All results will be published on our web site by 3.00pm on Race Day. If you have provided a mobile phone number in your application, you will receive a SMS message immediately after you cross the finish line.
Subject to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be a sports massage facility in the sports hall. A small charge will be made and this all goes to charity.
Where are the drinks stations?
There will be six water points around the route at around 3mile, 4.5 mile, 6.5mile, 9.5 mile, 11.5 mile and at the finish. Bottled water will be provided.
Where can I get refreshments?
There will be a stall selling hot food and drinks in the primary school playground along Sawyers Hall Lane. In addition there are a number of food and drink outlets along Brentwood High Road.
Do I need to register on Race Day?
If you have already received your race number, there is no need to register any further. Just pin the number to the front of your running vest and listen out for the announcements. It is not possible to enter the event on Race Day.
Can I raise funds for my own good cause?
Of course you can and this is encouraged. We do not need to be involved in your personal fund raising effort. All the proceeds of the event we receive from entry fees, sale of t-shirts and donations are 100% used for local and national good causes.
Split Timing Facility
In addition to start/finish mats there are two other timing points around the route. This are linked to a downloadable event App to enable supporters to monitor the progress of their runner.
