Are you ready for race day?



­­Where do you go on Sunday?


Becket Keys School at the bottom of Sawyers Hall Lane is where you will find the information point, baggage storage, toilets, SV Sports Massage and catering. Give yourself plenty time to queue for toilets, drop off your bag and attach your running number. If you have any questions on race day about your race pack, t-shirts or anything else then the Information desk is where to go.

How do you get there?

There is no parking at the START/FINISH area for runners. Use public transport or park in the town centre car parks. If you have purchased Premium Parking, have your voucher ready to show at the car park you have booked - either Brentwood Cricket Club or Brentwood School.


Important Rail Travel Information

Saturday, March 19, 2022 to Sunday, March 20, 2022 Due to track renewal and maintenance work between London Liverpool Street and Romford, services to / from Norwich, Ipswich, Clacton and Southend Victoria will turn around at Shenfield all weekend. Passengers travelling to / from London should use rail replacement bus services provided between Shenfield and Newbury Park TfL Central Line tube station. National Rail tickets to / from London will be accepted on the TfL Central Line between Newbury Park TfL Central Line tube station and Stratford / London Liverpool Street.

What time do you need to be there?

The half marathon starts at 10:00am. The fun run starts at 10:20am. Allow yourself at least an hour to park and make your way to the start area. Listen out for announcements for the race to start. First call for runners will be at 9:30am. Runners who entered after Thursday 10th March 2022 will need to collect their race numbers and t-shirts (if ordered) from the Information desk in the sports hall before the event. They should allow extra time to do this.

Is there a secure baggage facility?

We are unable to offer fully secure baggage storage but you can still drop your bag off at the Sports Hall at Becket Keys School. Ensure the tear-off tag on your race number is secured to your bag and place your bag on the storage shelves. We cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to property.

Can you wear headphones?

No. Headphones, earphones and any other device that covers the ears are not permitted. Runners ignoring this instruction will be disqualified. It is essential for safety reasons that runners can hear instructions from marshals, particularly on the parts of the route still open to traffic. Bone conducting and other transmission devices that do not cover the ears, are allowed.

Will there be Pacers?

Yes. Meet the Sportstiks Pacing Team here There will be pacers at 1:30 | 1:35 | 1:40 | 1:45 | 1:50 | 1:55 | 2:00 | 2:15 | 2:30 Look out for the flags in the start area.


Where are the water points on the route?

There will be six water points around the route at around 3mile, 4.5 mile, 6.5mile, 9.5 mile, 11.5 mile and at the finish. Thank you to Fairview Homes for sponsoring 3 water points

Young Fun Runners

All Fun Runners under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We will check photos of the under 12 winners coming across the finish line and if they do not cross with an adult, they will be disqualified.


How will you get your results?

All results will be published on our website by 3.00pm on Race Day. If you have provided a mobile phone number in your application, you will receive an SMS message immediately after you cross the finish line.

Winners and Awards Presentation

There will be an awards presentation for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female for both the Half Marathon and the Fun Run in the Sports Hall at approximately 11:30-11:45am on race day . In addition, an awards evening will be held on the evening of Thursday 31st March for all winners and placings for all categories. You will be invited by email if you are to receive a prize.

Can you get a sports massage?

Yes. A team from SV Sports Therapy will be in Becket Keys Sports Hall before and after the race. There is a small £10 charge for this with 100% going to charity.

Where can you get refreshments?

The Giggly Pig will be selling hot food and drinks near the finish line. Brentwood Theatre Cafe will be open from 8am for hot drinks and snacks The Brentwood Vegan Market will be held in the High Street and will run from 10:30 to 16:00 on Sunday 20th March. ­­­­ ­­­
